The Future |
Today's child holds the future in his or her heart and mind. It is the right of all children to have the chance to make their unique contributions to the world. |
YES YOU CAN! unlocks a child's potential |
Learning about Diversity shows children the varieties of ways humans live and think, and that everyone has valuable and unique contributions to make. Positive experiences beyond a child's culture and tradition develop acceptance of differences. |
Understanding each other and respecting our global neighbors has never been more critical than it is today. YES YOU CAN! Cross Cultural Youth Center reaches at-risk children and helps them to live acceptance while liberating their own self-expression. |
A Child's imagination is the key |
All children make art. All of the world's people dance. All of us are born with music already in our souls. Active appreciation for the rich art, music and dance of the world's cultures does more than celebrate diversity...it gives space in a child's life to discover the artist within. |
Each child is spiritually whole |
Respect helps to keep us that way. Healthy relationships with oneself, between individuals, within families, in local communities, and across our world will result from the practice of respect. |
Some children need assistance with basic skills needed for global citizenship. The goal of |
YES YOU CAN!'s tutoring and mentoring is to develop skills for problem solving, self-evaluation and self-correction. |
YES YOU CAN! programs open children’s minds and develop cooperative problem-solving skills. Activities and special projects build team spirit and the ability to see when to lead and when to follow. Always at the center is respect for team members and diversity in creative thinking to solve problems. |
A child's potential never dissipates |
Everything in life needs maintenance! We need to understand the harmony within our bodies, and our harmony with the world around us. Healthy gardens and healthy food help our body, imagination, and spirit stay focused on our potential. |
